i will wait for first six episodes of Saber to be subbed then i will binge watch it like i did with Zero-One
so can't wait to see Saber in action!

Awesome premiere! Touma is a very proactive and kind protagonist who values promises, even those made by others, and likes to make kids happy with his books. He immediately accepts the role of Saber as his own like he considers himself to be the hero of the story similar to those he writes about in his novels. These stories and characters have inspired him to be a Kamen Rider. However, I wonder if his confidence will get the better of him someday, due to how easily he makes promises.
Mei is a humorous sidekick and I really enjoy her casual interaction with Touma. I'm excited to see what kind of amazing adventures in fantasy they will experience together and how she will contribute to the development of Touma and his connection between the colliding worlds. She emotes a lot more than Izu although the latter can be forgiven for being a robot who had to learn about feelings.
Tassel is a third person narrator, telling us the story like it's a book. He's not as charismatic as Woz and lacks an important presence which makes me question if he's necessary, but maybe he's secretly involved in the plot, perhaps as the secret identity of Calibur or another character.
The henshin sequence is very cool and reminds me of Shinkenger with Touma doing a diagonal cross slash with Rekka to draw the mask on to his suit, showing that he's a master of both pen and sword by using his sword as a pen.
The gimmick is actually becoming more appealing to me now that I can appreciate how much sense it makes thematically. It just looks more complicated than it really is and you need to think from a different angle to understand how it works. Each Seiken Sword has 3 Volumes based on elemental attunement that can unlock stronger forms. Brave Dragon is Rekka Volume 1 and has power over fire similar to Wizard Flame Style. But with all 3 Volumes, it might be as strong as Special Rush! Lion Senki is Nagare Volume 2 and Lamp Do Alngina is Ikazuchi Volume 3.
I'll talk about Rintarou/Blades when I watch the sub for episode 2 since he doesn't do much in the premiere, but I already like his character from the RAW, very different from your typical brooding Secondary Rider.

Pretty good first episode. A lot to unpack:
- I like the motif. Books are my thing. And I like how it's used here.
- The main character, Touma, is a writer, and had the vibes of a Red Ranger. Not bad anyway. It could work. Probably it could work better than a "comedian Rider", but that work really good. It had big shoes to fill.
- It relies heavily in CGI effects. It works for me because is a fantasy world. The fight in the giant sword was pretty cool.
- I like the design of the monsters. And Saber suit......it's sleek. Not so heavy like Zi-O. More acrobatic is always a plus.
- The monster of the week, use a book to connect both worlds, the real and the fantasy world, with an effect similar to the medals in Kamen Rider OOOO movie. I like it.
- So, every Rider has the name of a sword or pun for saber? I like it.
Good, so far. It'sthe writer of Ghost, I have to wait to see if this deflates, but it brings me hope.

Waiting for the saber episode 1 sub is maddening considering that at the time of this post episode 2 is set to air in a couple hours. And I have questions considering the Raw I watched wasn’t the best quality

I’m waiting for tv-Nihon to release the subs since over-time isn’t doing them this year Same here. GENM CORP feels too basic for me. Good news is that TV-N just released the first episode! I'll update my previous post with more details when I watch it. |

Tv-Nihon released episode 1 now they gotta turn right around and do episode 2. Is Mei going to be a Kamen Rider? because during the ending it looked like she had one of the books in her hand

I'll have to watch the TV-Nihon subs. A good friend & fellow Tokusatsu geek doesn't like Nihon. But anything is better than OverTime and whatever crap subtitles did those Ryuki & Abaranger episodes I watched on YouTube where "Final Vent" was replaced with "Befall" and anything "Aba" was replaced with "Tyranno".
