"You may need to go back to the ATM." Derek let out what sounded like a dejected chuckle before sighing again. "Seriously though, I'm just tired. Even after finding a way not to lose my mind with Crow being around, you have certain individuals who won't waste an opportunity to sit on their high horse like everyone else or certain individuals who claim to be part of the team but hurts more then they help when they give out last minute information." The CEO explained.
"The support wasn't great with Divatox either but having Jax and Astraios here made things so much easier. It's just a lot right now. If it was only one of these problems to deal with, I wouldn't mind as much, but all together? It's a lot. Sorry... I didn't mean to dump that on your lap." He finished after getting out what was bothering him.

"What, staying out of the way and cheering them on from the sidelines?" Amara asked. "The same thing I did before?"
"Being a mother. That kid deserves safety and protection just like all of the people you've fought for over the years." Boss explained. "Besides, it's like you said. You're giving your powers to Jax, so the team isn't losing any number. So relax. Have faith in your team and get ready. You've got the hard part coming up."

"On it." Derek knew that leaving Ken unattended usually didn't end well, but the people were the priority. Using his Trinity Lance, he drove the tip of the weapon through the side of a Cog's head that was about to strike some Cadets. The cadets thanked him before taking off, allowing Derek to resume fighting, doing work with a series of kicks, blending them seamlessly with his trusted weapon.

Amara sighed softly, wrapping her arms around her stomach softly. "No, but....I feel useless. They're fighting a new threat and I want to help as long as I can," she said softly. "I know it's selfish, and I know the risks, but I..." She sighed and leaned her head back. "Goddamn it..."
"Being a mother isn't useless." Boss argued. "What you're doing now is just as important as what the Rangers are doing." She said, trying to offer support. "And you may not believe it, but you're helping them now, just in a different way."

Takashi sighed. "Just to avoid any sarcasm I know nothing about you, your rank, how long you have lived in the sound... I don't know how if you have had said exams before you defected..." Takashi shook his head deciding he no longer had interest in the conversation. He leaned against the wall and crossed his arms looking over to Uryuu with an exasperated expression.
"Lets hope they fair well today." He said back to smiles.
"I've spoken on my rank. The blame is not on me if you failed to hear it or chose not to care because of your admitted bias at the time. I suppose my response did not make my answer to your question clear. Like the Chunin exams, this is a joint sponsored exam, so there's no difference between the official examinations between the villages. As for your knowledge of me is concerned, when you take the time to ask about me, I'll answer accordingly."
When Takashi was so quick to dismiss the conversation after not getting the answer in the exact manner he wanted, Shun took a seat, remaining silent, almost in a meditative state. It was no secret that the Sound's betrayal was a sore spot. Hopefully with the right care, that wound would heal in time.

"The same village I haven't been to in almost four years?" Shun asked aloud, to make sure he heard the question correctly. "My time has been split between a prison cell, the woods, and this village along with any accompanying missions. I do not know specifically. What I do know is that these exams are under a joint sponsorship, so if no other shinobi are taking exams, it's safe to assume the Sound Village did not have any worthy candidates." Shun finished, doing his best from blurting out a snarky remark, instead choosing to answer plainly.

"CHRONO STORM, UNLEASH!" The Rangers morphed and once in the desired time period, the Rangers left the ship, braving these elements. Once in Konoha, they began their search, only to not be kept waiting for too long.
"All we need now is to find... GLACIAR!" Mateo exclaimed pointing out the frozen feline who also spotter them.
"Rangers!" Glaciar Zero snarled. "How do you know my name!?"

The three Megazords wasted no more time and they all engaged in battle against the Xanzarian force.
"What's the hurry? Your destruction is coming soon enough!" Zyrosk briefly used his cape to blind the Striker Megazord before slashing it a few times, chuckling in the process.
"Ooooh, someone's got wings! I'll try and leave enough to play with later. But the third wheel still has to go!" Princhella took a dig at Kiriko before flying up in the air, unleashing a mighty energy blast from her mouth, heading straight for the Isis Megazord.
Rindeo and Eddie were locked in a collar and elbow tie up, allowing her to speak without anyone else hearing her.
"You all need to get your healer and leave this planet."
"Don't worry, once we're done with the three of you, Saivage is next. Not even he can take down 3 Megazords and a crew of more zords." Eddie spoke confidently.
"It's not him you need to worry about." Rindeo shot back, sounding more regretful, leaving Eddie confused.

"And there it is!" Paul lauded the return of the Blue Ranger's less than savory demeanor. Seeing that the Raizers were nearly thinned out. "Let's wrap this up!" A group of Raizers surrounded Paul, closing in on him until he could no longer be seen. Moments later, the sound of steel could be heard cutting flesh. The Raizers surrounding Paul fell to the ground, all dead after the Red Ranger cut them all down with Lightning Sword.

Derek was standing in his office. Instead of eating or playing a game, he was staring out of his window, taking in the view of the city he's fought so hard to protect. For many reasons, this second tour as a Ranger was far more stressful than the first and Tengusuke set to attack at any moment, he wanted to get a good look at the city while it was peaceful.
"Jax, Astraios, Big Red, I really could use all of y'all here right now. I don't think I can scheme my way out of this one." Derek sighed.

"What?! Lenny with a heart?! I must have been knocked loopy." Paul took a Raizer down with a roundhouse, using that momentum to transition into a second roundhouse, taking down another grunt.

"If you fail, you resume your normal duties. Keep in mind that if you fail, you have to go through a whole new evaluation and recommendation period to which it's extremely rare for a Chunin to be granted permission to undergo these exams again should they fail their first attempt." Shizune responded, giving her the truth.

"We better be." Aaron responded. "Because the odds of a Chunin being promoted after failing the Jonin exams the first time is almost zero."
"Thank you all for being here on time." Shizune walked into the classroom, closing the door behind her. "Thankfully, since it's the three of you this year, I can skip the formal introductions. I'll be your proctor for the written examination. To go over the rules, there is to be no use of your jutsu... or Ranger powers. The written phase will be two hours. You must pass to move on to the next phase. You may not leave this room during the examination." Shizune began passing the exams around to the trio along with pencils.
"Do you all have any questions before we begin?"

"The familiarity should aid them then." Shun said to Uryuu. With them and Takashi in the lobby and the others in the classroom, they couldn't see them directly, partly to help prevent possible cheating. In the lobby, the Rangers not involved in the exams could wait until the tests were complete.

Amara deflated and sank to the floor, her back against Derek's desk as she rested her hands on her stomach. "Because I told him, no matter what, I'd always have his back," she said softly. "And sitting on the sidelines, watching as he goes out and comes back with bruises and scrapes and scars...each one feels like a punch to the stomach that I'm not there. I want to keep him safe just as much as he wants me to be safe, because I know that if I am pregnant, I'm giving things to Jax and he can be there, but until it happens, I still have a duty as Gold Ranger. I've never backed away from a fight, never backed down, never let myself be told "stay away" like I have been. I've tried to tell Derek I'll be ok and taht I can manage, but he won't hear it. He won't listen to me. I know the fucking risks, I know waht Im' getting myself into, but...I can't lose him..." She looked down, ashamed of herself as she drew her knees up.
Boss sighed. "Having his back doesn't just mean fighting." Softening her tone, she put Derek's food back on his desk. "Think of it like this. Him knowing you and the baby are safe is gonna allow him to fight at his best. If you're in the field, most of his attention is going to be focused on trying to protect you versus making the right moves to help the others. And with a new Red Ranger, she'll need him at his best to help get her comfy in the hero game." She slid down to the floor, sitting next to Amara.
"Look, I'll say it because Derek's too nice to do it. You're letting your pride get in the way. If the guy who listens to everybody to a fault won't listen to you now, that means something. You say you don't want to lose him, but ask yourself this. If you go out there and put that baby at risk after telling you not to which is rare in itself for him, how well do you think that's going to go over? Sure, you'll feel empowered and accomplished, but is it really worth risking what you have with him?" Boss finished.
