End of an Era. the final new Sunday strip for the newspaper strip creative team before reruns kick in for the forseeable future. I've heard conflicting reports regarding the next 24 hours, one source said there's still one final week of new content, but they come to an end on Saturday, another source said there will be nothing but ads for Marvel movies.

Just finished Spider-Man: Life Story#1. Wasn't bad, but rushed through some developments, as well as a battle, just to keep the focus on the Vietnam angle. Chip is definitely favouring Gwen too. Roy Thomas speaks to SCY-FY WIRE about the ending of his run on the Spider-Man newspaper strip. He reveals here that he began ghost writing it twenty years ago, with Stan very much a hands-on editor more or less, approving and turning down ideas. Thomas would spend two days a week writing four weeks of storylines and pitching others. The decision to end the strip was Marvels', not Kings Features, and they cut it in the midst of the Australia plotline. The original plan was for Peter and MJ to head over there and battle the Kangeroo! The interview also contains a spoiler for the final daily: There were even more weeks of the strip illustrated but the decision to kill it before the trip got started meant Alex and Thomas had to scramble to rewrite the final daily to include a cameo appearance from the two of them, with a panel of the Daily Bugle running with the headline "'NUFF SAID" www.syfy.com/syfywire/roy-thomas-on-amazing-spider-man-comic-strip

Spidey Daily Strip: Peter theorises the airport detectors were set off by his radioactive DNA. MJ is relieved she didn't set off the alarm, otherwise she would have been forced to reveal SHE is wearing the Spider-Man costume to protect his identity. What a great twist. Tomorrow is the final new daily before the reruns kick in. I'll still update you guys on the old strips they use as I've rarely read them so it'll be just as new to me as the recent stuff. I hope the new material doesn't take too long to surface though, and I hope it's the same status quo we're leaving behind A new podcast interview with Greg Rucka, where he talks about what to expect from the Lois Lane book geekinthecity.com/2019/03/21/issue-490-ruck-lazarus-rise/The first storyline deals with the fallout of Lois being seen kissing Superman in public back in Action Comics#1004. The people now see her as a temptress who doesn't know her place, the story also focuses on what happens in regards to backlash when you speak your mind Just be glad this shit is being handled by someone who knows what they're doing (Rucka) rather than Bendis.

Boy 2019 sure is the year of Amalgamation Characters. Oh well Infinity Wars did leave the Warp universe open for more exploration that & if Drax's is ever going to return we might as well go back to it.

So a bit of confusion this Sunday, the newspaper strip seemed to come out with some new material after all despite claims yesterday was the last story. It appears to take place chronologically a few days prior to the Australia trip with Peter reflecting on the incident with Killgrave and thinking nothing can bring him down...then he gets home and MJ is distraught as her play is being shut down.
I'm pretty sure I've seen the last two panels of this before (the bits where MJ is upset), and the captions on panels one and five describe that Peter is "dreaming of good times and bad", so I suppose this is how they're explaining away the transition to reruns, with Peter on the flight to Australia "dreaming" of past adventures that were pretty recent.
