I don't think this season is considered to be the absolute worst season of Power Rangers. But just because it's not the worst, doesn't mean that it's also among the "best" seasons of Power Rangers. I just think that Operation Overdrive is kind of overwhelming "Meh!" And that's all it ever was back in 2007. Just "meh!" in comparison to Power Rangers Super Megaforce and Power Rangers Turbo. And Power Rangers Dino Super Charge and 90% of Power Rangers Ninja Steel, so far.
But still, there are some good things about this season such as the zords, the morphers, the characters of Rose Ortiz/Overdrive Pink Ranger, Spencer and the Fear-Cats. Even Tyzonn's backstory in "Man of Mercury, Part II" and Mack's plot-twist of him being an android was awesome. However, with that being said, I think this season would have worked a lot better and I have to agree on the Disney Brain on this one, if Operation Overdrive was another space-themed Power Rangers season with the "Indiana Jones"-esque theme of intergalactic globe-trotting and treasure hunting from different planets and solar systems. I mean, there is just no reason to keep this season grounded on Earth to find the jewels of the Corona Aurora, when all the Sentinel Knight could have done was just scatter the jewels across the entire galaxy. That would still work with the whole "globe-trotting" aspect, but take that them and make into "Indiana Jones meets Power Rangers in Space, litterally!" Simple!!!
There was a list of good ideas in the season of Operation Overdrive, but it's been held back by so many incompetence coming from the executives from Disney not giving a damn about this franchise and just want to kill it for good. And that's just sad.
