If you are referring to the Alien Ranger mini series, than here is the deal with it. When the first MMPR boxset was released, the Alien Ranger disc was inside the same case with the four discs that represent the main season 3 set. But when they did the individual release, they released the Alien Ranger disc separate from the season 3 set and it was red. Which is the same way for the second MMPR set as in this one, they put both volumes of seasons 1 and 2 in one case each instead of two volume cases and used the separate season 3 and Alien Ranger series sets.

Watched the 1st 5 episodes from Shout Factory's web site. Release #1. Looking forward to the 45 I have yet to see.
After Magi didn't they make the series wide screen which was why the Operation Overdrive footage was off? Would we see this on DVD wide screen?

First Sentai in HD was indeed Boukenger.
It will appear cropped, unfortunately, like it aired on Operation Overdrive through RPM. It’s noticeable... but it is what it is. Not that bad.

It will be weird once we get to Samurai however. I streamed 4 of them starting with the 2008 series. I hope the zoomed in look doesn't screw it up too bad.

Wouldn't it count which way format is that toei sends shout footage. It's not like shout hasn't released products in widescreen format before.

Um, just curious here but, is there a reason why these last few posts couldn't have been done in the Shout Factory Sentai DVD set since it is pretty much talking about them rather then the PR DVDs shout released?

We were actually talking about the screen format of the releases.

Like April said we where not talking about the sentai itself. Just what shout likely to do once they get to the sentai series that did switch to HD format.

Shout will have to release those in the HD...
Sorry I thought you meant the Power Ranger equivalent. No doubt we will get the newer ones in high def.
Hopefully some effort will go into the subtitles.

Like April said we where not talking about the sentai itself. Just what shout likely to do once they get to the sentai series that did switch to HD format. But, isn't that still talking about the Sentai releases anyway? Even if it is about it being released in HD or not, it is still being referred to the future releases of Sentai DVDs.

That HD change happened after Magi (Magician) Ranger. Other studios have released stuff in WS before so it might happen here. Toei's 30th was the first filmed in WS so we might get that format when Toei sends that print WS. It was aired that way. This happened when Lions Gate released Samurai to Super Ninja Steel. Power Rangers went WS starting with Samurai.

Wouldn't it count which way format is that toei sends shout footage. It's not like shout hasn't released products in widescreen format before. They even had Samurai through Megaforce in widescreen in the legacy set. I also agree with iceranger that the Sentai talk fits best in the thread that actual IS about Sentai releases, even if you're just referring to the picture formats of the discs in those sets.
