Remember what happened last year when there was a major casting change that led to some overreactions by some of the netizens and even accused the producers and casting director/s of "racism". Now in few months time (if they will announce the new season), what are the tips to prevent from another unforeseen circumstance and recasting prior to the start of official taping of the show? Do you think the producers and casting director/s should do more background checks and add more qualifications to fit a character to the show?

Oh my god folks blew the whole yellow ranger casting switch to much. Many shows and films change cast for variety if reasons. And it's not due to some agenda or racism deal. And like folks brought up we have had many changing in casting process for many seasons of the show. So I doubt they be changing any process in there casting for next series.
Also really this franchise has been more open race wise for roles for years. And they really leave any role open for different races.

So it is really normal for the production crew to commit "uncontrollable mistakes" despite lots of background and qualification checks many times? Of course some of the netizens can't able to bear the changes if there was a recasting involved (you were chosen at the convention then you flew to another country only to find out that you are not qualified at all or committed violation to the contract that caused your release).

Hmm aj what the heck are you talking about. What checks and qualifications? I don't think we ever got the full reason why yellow got replaced. I said then between when he was cast and then the change. The actor must have done something bad and Saban folks didn't want any issues with that. Or something came up and actor wasn't able to do filming due to other reasons. Ie stuff with mentor ji, and wf red ranger troubles. But just cause he was recast. Doesn't mean there was anything wrong in that actors background check or qualifications. Or the way Saban folks do check things. Again all I am pointing out is there is absolutely nothing wrong in how the casting folks go about testing and then hiring folks. And folks really think there was some dam big hoopla over the recasting.

aj0905: Did you not even do your research on what happened to the original chosen actor for the role of the Yellow Ranger in Ninja Steel?! Racism is not a key factor in the issue. Hell, Audrey DuBois, the unofficial pilot actress for Trini's character left before the show was even produced because she wanted more money, despite the fact that it was a non-union job.

I dont care about the drama I just wish this wasn’t the 6th consecutive blonde caucasian yellow ranger. They’re all starting to look the same. Soon I’m going to start thinking how sad that Summer in Megaforce was underused. Ronny in RPM had a dumb two-parter, and Gia in Jungle Fury should have gotten with Fran instead of annoying Theo

Venusaur, Okay, I am not sure if you did this on purpose or not, but you totally messed up where each of the Yellow Rangers goes to which seasons: Summer is in RPM not Megaforce and Super Megaforce. Ronny is in Operation Overdrive not RPM. Gia is in Megaforce and Super Megaforce not Jungle Fury.

^ Yes, only six - in order: Ronny, Lily, Summer, Emily, Gia, Calvin. It probably feels like more because each season now lasts 2 years, there was a gap between RPM and Samurai, and Dino Charge did not have a Yellow.
I would imagine actors are already background checked, and I don't see how "qualifications" would help? Unless I'm missing something, we still don't know why the original actor was replaced - I don't think either he or Saban ever said anything. He might have quit on his own. And if an actor must be recast, having to do it early into the start of filming is the best situation for Saban; not much re-shooting to do, not too much money wasted, and the show hasn't aired yet. A few people complaining online that the re-cast was racist is not too much bad PR (no pun intended) as it goes. It's not like the controversy over Samurai's initial casting call specifying that the Red Ranger must be white, or when a black actress who had auditioned for Megaforce said she'd been told she was rejected because they didn't want more than one black person in the main cast. Both of which attracted considerably more attention and press controversy than the re-casting of Ninja Steel Yellow

Huh. You're right. Every yellow ranger we've had for the past 10 years has been blonde.
Yeah, it would be very nice to change things up a little next season.

Kaizoku is right. It’s not so much the quantity of white blonde yellow rangers as much as due to the stretching of adaptations and a one year hiatus with no new series and two years of no yellow ranger we haven’t had a yellow ranger that wasn’t white and blonde since 2006. Shoot we haven’t had a yellow ranger of color since 2001

^ 2005 - Z was Latina. But, yeah, 12 years is still way too long.

Hey at least we can say we have had a wide range of ethnicity for rangers over the years. Now sure I do agree it's nice when we get more variety in certain colors in the girls. Or be nice for red to have a full Asian be nice for once.

I posted this one because next year they will do another casting for the season 26 and we don't want to see another mistake just what happen to PR Ninja Steel unless it was really beyond their control that they forced to change the casts few weeks before the taping. But some of us still unable to bear with these changes in recent years and often being over-reactive because they are smarter than the producers.
