In honor of Halloween, I thought it would be fun to see what everyone's scariest episode is of sentai. While it's often a show that is light in tone, some sentai can produce a horrifying episode or premise. If you can't think of a full episode, even a scary moment will be fine.
My personal scary episode is Jetman ep 36. This episode has people being bitten by ants before they eventually turn into an ant monster. The horrifying part is that those bitten will eat anything, even live animals. This was a shock as one woman even ate her own dog!
So let's hear everyone else's.

The only sentai episodes that I can think of that are scary in the back of my head are the two-part Magiranger episode where Houka/Magi Pink gets turned into a vampire and act 25 of Shinkenger where they reveal Usakawa Dayu's backstory in the dream world. Seriously, that was messed up, yet scary stuff that I have seen in a Japanese "children's show".

It's just how the general public sees it, dude. Now, can we please get back to real subject at hsnd, like are there any other sentai episodes that you thought were scary, Bulbasaur?!

I always thought the coral episode of Megaranger was a little creepy. Its basically played as a B-horror film. Also the ever infamous episode 32 of Ohranger.

Not an actual scary sentai episode, but I do have a scary sentai moment I would like to share, oh and Spoiler alert!....
The opening of Space Squad Episode Zero where Shelly, Tammy, Umeko and Jasmine dies. And I mean, really. No joke, that was scary and way too extreme for a family-friendly movie in Japan.

Episode 30 of Zyuranger was pure nightmare fuel for kids. Not only was there that ominous timer of Dai Satan debut but you had stuff like Bandora bleeding from the eyes, Kids being horrifically fused to a pole that summons Satan, & the transformation of Zombiefranke to Satanfranke is some Croninberg level stuff.

What about the Vyram Empress arc of Jetman where crystals erupted graphically from people's skin?

As should be obvious from the gore and fanservice, it's aimed at adult viewers old enough to remember Dekaranger and the Space Sheriffs ... Agree on the Jetman episode where the woman eats her dog, also the one involving Ako's teddy bear

I should've given anyone a heads up for spoilers, if they haven't seen the movie, yet. But, episode zero of Space Squad is necessary to watch since it is tied to the actual movie crossover of Gavan and Dekaranger as a prequel. @kaizoku Blue: So, are Space Squad Episode Zero and the Gavan vs Dekaranger team-up movie basically the Japanese equivalent to a "PG-13" or an "R-Rated" movie? Because I think they both fit into the category of an "R-Rated" movie.

^ I'm not sure what they'd be classed as, but yeah, they're aimed at adult audiences. Generally, most Toei V-Cinema works aren't aimed at kids - only the summer Sentai one that serves as an epilogue to the show that ended in February

^ Hard to put any kind of rating on it considering family shows in Japan have different standards for what content they can have.

I don't think I found a Sentai episode scary before.... Although the henchmen for Changeman are incredibly terrifying. It's like a mutated Miss America.
